Certifications

Athletic Coaching

The minor in Athletic Coaching provides the student with the opportunity to take the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) exam to become certified in coaching.  

Athletic Training

The Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Joint Review Committee for Athletic Training Education (JRC-AT). Because the curriculum meets the accreditation requirements, when a student successfully completes the program and graduates, the student is qualified to take the National Athletic Trainers' Association examination.

Physical Education Teacher Education

The Physical Education teacher education student may choose either a 6-12 or K-12 certification program. Students are encouraged, additionally, to prepare an additional teaching area to enhance employability.

Recreation Management

Recreation Management graduates are immediately eligible to sit for the following certification examination:  Certified Park and Recreation Professional.  

Therapeutic Recreation

Successful completion of the Therapeutic Recreation Program and an internship qualify a student to apply to sit for the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification exam in pursuit of becoming a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
