Financial Aid and Graduate Assistantships

Each year, many of our Kinesiology and Recreation graduate students receive financial assistance in the form of loans, grants, employment, scholarships, tuition waivers, and graduate assistantships.

Graduate assistantships, including a full tuition waiver and a competitive stipend, are available for full-time students. Other forms of financial aid, including Minority Tuition Waivers, Trustees’ Tuition Waivers, and scholarships, are available to qualified applicants. Early applications for financial aid are encouraged. Late applications may receive consideration if positions are still available. A limited number of assistantships become available for spring semester; submit your application with your Graduate School application. You can also download a graduate assistantship form.

If you would like to be considered for a tuition waiver in the event no assistantships are currently available, please mark both the Graduate Assistantship and Tuition Waiver boxes in the upper right hand corner and  complete the tuition waiver section of the application using black ink. If no assistantships are currently available, you are encouraged to reapply for future semesters. Please note, if you received a tuition waiver instead of an assistantship, you must reapply each semester to be considered for a tuition waiver.

In addition to completing a Graduate Assistantship application, you must also complete a Teaching Preference form. If you have Microsoft Word, you may complete and save the Word document to your computer and send it as an .  Otherwise, please print and complete (using black ink) the Teaching Preference form and mail to:
