Application Review Process

Applications are reviewed by the Graduate Program director and by graduate faculty in your identified sequence. For entrance into the Graduate Program in KNR:

  • You must meet the admission criteria outlined above.
  • You must also be accepted by the faculty in your area of specialization. This latter decision will be based, in part, on your career goals, your GPA in courses related to the area of specialization, and the availability of space in the chosen area.

Students without a background in Kinesiology or Recreation may be admitted, but additional undergraduate prerequisites to graduate coursework will be required. Exceptions to these criteria are made on a case-by-case basis. Before applying to the program, prospective students are encouraged to contact faculty in their sequence of interest to discuss acceptance into the program.
