Jorndt Graduate Student/Faculty Research Award

In 1967, Mr. Louis C. Jorndt contributed funds to the Illinois State University Foundation to support research projects in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. For over 40 years, the Jorndt Award has recognized meritorious research conducted as a collaboration between a graduate student and faculty mentor.

The Jorndt Graduate Student/Faculty Research Award is given annually to a graduate student and faculty advisor who have disseminated research of the highest quality under the most stringent review either through presentation or publication. The award is presented at the KNR Academic Achievement and Service Awards ceremony held each spring.  Selection of the award winner is made by either the KNR chair, a chair designee (e.g., grad. coordinator), and/or a selection committee of 3 if more than one qualified nomination is made.
