Alumni Spotlight - Tracy Lester

Tracy Lester has been a Wellness Coach with the Wellness Council of Arizona since September of 2006.  Tracy has a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology from Illinois State University and a Bachelors Degree in Community Health Education from the University of Illinois.  She is also a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant.  Before moving to the Southwest, Tracy was the Fitness Coordinator and a Personal Trainer at the Mettler Center in Champaign, IL. 

Tracy is enthusiastic about helping adults achieve their health and wellness goals, but she is also passionate about childhood obesity prevention.  Tracy’s desire to help prevent childhood obesity began during her graduate studies.  She completed her Master's Thesis and an independent research study on childhood and adolescent obesity. While completing her Masters Degree, she was the lead research assistant for the Physical Education, Obesity Prevention & Lifestyle Enhancement Program.  She also educated Illinois State University students in various areas including Fitness Walking & Jogging, Personal Fitness, Volleyball, and First Aid.

Tracy moved to Phoenix from Illinois is August of 2006 and relocated to Tucson in October of 2008.  Her favorite forms of exercise are strength training and hiking, but she also loves walking and jogging.  In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, exercising and spending time with her husband and many cats.
